| I f it was one thing Erin hated it was being behind on her cases. There was still the whole looming stolen car case sitting on her desk. Erin sighed as she started scrolling the pictures taken by the corner store of the person behind the wheel. His id hadn’t hit anything in their database, it was getting them no where. He was still a mystery man. “I could have sworn we had pictures of the tag in here somewhere.” She remarked to Jay as she pushed her almost finished lunch out of the way.
Erin wanted room to spread out across the desks. “This car has been used in multiple various felonies. I want to know who the the son of a bitch is.” They had nothing other than images and time frames and tire tracks that they hoped match the vehicle. Some days she really wished she had chosen a different profession, but she was good at her job and most days enjoyed it. Today was not one of those days.

Jay sighed as he reviewed the notes he had, glancing at Erin as she stated that she had thought that they had pictures of a tag somewhere. "That...might be in my files," he responded as he looked over the papers. She'd probably need to look at them and that was fine. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes on the reports would do some good. He just wasn't really sure on this. On top of this, he was starting to feel a little cranky. Maybe he needed to eat. Yeah, that sounded good. But should they order in or take a break and go out?
He then nodded in agreement as she stated that she wanted to know who owned the car as it had been used in several different crimes. "I hear ya," he responded. And we don't have any other leads than what we're seeing in these files, he th ought to himself. It was a little frustrating, to be honest. "I think we could use a break. "What do you say we go out, grab a bite, and then come back and tackle this again?" he suggested. Maybe the break would give them both some perspective.

| B efore Jay could say anything else, Erin tackled his arm for the file. She was in one of those energetic and fierce moods. The kind where she was the dog not letting go of the bone. “Gimme” She didn’t care that she was practically in her husband’s lap as she tried to steal the file. While Hank knew she was dating Jay, their marriage was still a secret, but she figured if he peeked out that he wouldn’t say anything. They were still working after all.
Erin heard Jay say something about lunch just as she ran the plate number through the system. Erin than pushed her stapler off the desk and slammed her hand down in its place. Breathe Erin. She hit the print button and then put the paper on Jay’s desk. ”I can’t get rid of her. What the hell does she have to do with this whole mess?” Lunch now forgotten, Erin was ready to tear someone’s head off. Namely a certain mother of hers.

Jay chuckled as Erin grabbed the file, telling him to give it to him. "All yours," he responded. I mean, little moot since she just took it, he thought to himself. However, he wasn't about to say this as she was already stressed out from the possibility of her mother being mixed up in....whatever the hell she had gotten herself into. So yeah, keeping things calm as best as he could.
He then went to pull her close, intending to give her a reassuring kiss on the shoulder as she began to rage, wondering what she had to do with everything, saying that she couldn't get rid of her. "We'll figure it out, Babe," he assured.. Ordering in. Definitely, he thought and picked up the phone and dialed the number for her favorite restaurant, putting in their usual order and then hanging up. He knew his wife extremely well and in the mindset she was in, she wouldn't be worrying about food. No, she'd be focused on figuring out what Bunny was up to and what she had gotten involved in. We'll figure this out, he thought. They had to.

| E rin wanted to get out and go find her mother and strangle her. She was still oblivious to the file that Hank and Jay had on Bunny. Erin couldn’t understand how Jay could be so calm when she was practically ready to kick in a door. It was a good thing that door busting wasn’t her decision. There weren’t words right now only expressions of anger as she Erin kicked her desk with her foot.
Somehow being told they would figure things out didn’t make things any better. Trying to figure Bunny out was like trying to find the end of a rainbow. Except there was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow only the smell of cigarettes, booze, and lies. Erin wanted Bunny out of her life and at every turn there she was.

Jay wasn't really sure what to do. To be honest, there was a part of him that wanted to go busting into Bunny's place and demand that she leave Erin alone. But he couldn't. For one, it would possibly give the woman more ammunition against the department, and for another, it would make her think that he didn't feel that she could defend herself and he didn't ever want to make her think that he didn't feel like she could take care of herself. He didn't want to be the guy that went all caveman on his girlfriend. No, he'd rather show her how much he loved her.
After getting off the phone with the food place, he turned to her. "I wish---I wish I knew how to help you," he confessed. "I mean, you know me. You know that I tend to go out and at least attempt to take care of a problem for you. But I know that's not what you need right now," he continued. And yes, he had just admitted that he was feeling lost. Hopefully, she wouldn't think less of him for the confession...
